Bob E. Sherman  what is this message "Am I the only one that Signals"?

Nation is Terry Prachett's latest (non-Discworld) novel.  It is about a boy whose island nation is wipred out by a sunami.  Alone in the world, he is lead by the ghosts of his ancestors to survive, and to keep his Nation alive.

This is not my favourite Pratchett novel, and it is not as witty as his usual fair.  However, it is unique in the predicaments in which Mau finds himself, and in the questions that naturally arise in your own mind as you follow him along.

The book, "MY MIRACLE by Rodney Barnes" is about an aimless youth experiences a TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY that resets his priorities and later after much rehabilitation gets him on the path to discover the educational system, life, and God.

This book is highly recommended for anyone who likes or loves to read because its all about life and is educational. It also points out roads we might take, decisions we make, how you might communicate with a loved on going through this adjusting, school, college, relationships, marriage, alcohol, getting into trouble, finding your way, professionalism, the simple fact of God before and after this accident, and so much more...

"My Miracle" is a great book. I sat down and read the entire book as soon as it came 2 days ago- without putting it down. I started reading as soon as I got into the car after leaving the bookstore! It spoke to me in a special way, knowing that our God works in the miraculous way that He did for Rodney, who attends our church here in Tampa Bay, Florida. My husband is currently reading "My Miracle". What you need to know is that he does not enjoy reading like I do; he just about never reads a book! But when he was reading it this afternoon and it was getting close to the time for us to leave to attend church, he said, "Just 10 more minutes- til I finish this chapter".
I will be sending "My Miracle" to my brother in New Hampshire whose son is now in his early 20's and remains in an inpatient rehab center, where all of his care is provided for him, subsequent to a traumatic brain injury. My nephew Luke has had multiple critical surgeries over the past 3 1/2 years of a physical, emotional and spiritual roller coaster, since his near fatal car accident, unable to walk, talk, eat, drink, or perform any usual activities that we mostly take for granted . We remain hopeful that Luke will perhaps someday experience his miracle, too.

Mother Angelica's Private and Pithy Lessons from the Scriptures by Raymond Arroyo

I picked this up because the photo reminded so much of the teachers (Grey Nuns) I had.  Mother Angelica is witty, funny, down to earth.  I love her comments and the way she explains things.  It's not preachy...it just gives you something to think about.  I really enjoyed this one.

Has anyone read The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill?  The young Canadian author writes in the first person as an 11 year old girl from West Africa who is taken by a slave ship.  Her amazing journey follows her through her lifetime.  He captures the thoughts of a young girl, a young woman, a wise old woman...this is an truely captivating book.  I could not put it down and ended up finishing it in one marathon reading session.  This will open your eyes, spark your imagination, thrill you, make you cry.  It's a wonderful treasure that I think everyone would love.
